What is Conversion?  Conversion is the process of changing from one accounting system to another accounting system.

Why convert?  If you are not satisfied with your existing accounting system, or are not getting technical support for your system, you may wish to convert to another system.

How can I convert?  There are basically two ways to convert your system: 

1.  Stop using your existing software and start with an entirely new program. 

2.  Electronically move your existing data into another accounting software program.

What One Write Plus versions can be converted to Peachtree?  All version 8 for Windows versions can be converted to Peachtree Accounting.  We can also convert Quickbooks to Peachtree Accounting as well as Peachtree Accounting & Quicken to Quickbooks.

What happens in each conversion scenario? 

Scenario 1.  If you stop using your existing software and start with an entirely new software package, you must create your books from scratch.  The existing accounting architecture in the existing program will have to be duplicated manually in the new software program.  The chart of accounts, customer, vendor and employee cards must be created.  Balances as of the date of conversion must be inputted into the newly created cards. 

Scenario 2.  If you convert electronically, you preserve your existing accounting architecture in the new system.  All general ledger accounts, customer, vendor and employee records are preserved as well as ALL THEIR TRANSACTIONS as of the date of conversion.
